Rooms clean, included breakfast buffet great, good air conditioning during hot days.
Inconvenient location near busy street with heavy traffic. reports of nearby favelas feel unsettling. Limited TV channels, some rooms had issues with Wi-Fi stability, and certain cleaning practices impacted comfort, like windows left open and air conditioning turned off by staff.

A blend of comfort and charm
Woke up to the aroma of fresh Brazilian coffee and a delightful breakfast spread. the staff was always smiling and helpful. The courtyard pool was a refreshing bonus! The hotel is also conveniently located, with easy access to public transport bringing you to Copacabana and Ipanema.
Despite these positives, the noise from the lively street nights could be bothersome, especially if you prefer quiet. Some areas of the hotel showed signs of age and could benefit from better maintenance.

The breakfast was enjoyable with tasty options, especially the cakes. The rooms were a good size, simple yet comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious with great amenities. The hotel has two buildings, ensuring a quieter stay if you request a room facing the back side. Additionally, there are three meeting rooms available for events and networking opportunities, which is a plus for business travelers.
Noise from the street can be bothersome at night.

The hotel is an economical option with easy access to the Municipal Theatre, where we enjoyed catching a show with the kids. The kids loved the pool area, giving them a great place to unwind after our city explorations.
For dads, it would be great if there were more family-friendly dining options nearby.

The hotel had a comfortable air conditioning system that really made a difference during the hot days. The large bathroom came with free toiletries, making life easier after a long day of exploring. Enjoyed the cozy mini-bar which added a nice touch for chilling after outings. I particularly liked the spaciousness of the room. it felt more relaxed instead of cramped. The breakfast buffet offered a good selection, with something tasty for everyone including local specialties. A downside was the noise from the street that made it challenging to sleep some nights. Cleaning could have been better. I found hair under the bed and the curtains needed a wash. The lack of consistent maintenance was noticeable overall. Also, internet connectivity had some hiccups during peak times, making it hard to check maps or communicate. Still, if you're after a budget-friendly choice with decent amenities and close to local activities, it could be worth considering. Just be prepared for a bit of noise and a few maintenance issues.

The stay at Monte Alegre was overall very satisfactory. The location in Lapa is vibrant, providing easy access to local bars and restaurants. The hotel is clean, with efficient air conditioning and a spacious bathroom. I particularly enjoyed the great coffee served at breakfast and the accommodating staff who helped with luggage storage when my plans changed. The availability of three meeting rooms also made it convenient for business purposes.
The area can feel unsafe at night due to the presence of drunks.

Great location for experiencing Lapa's nightlife
I enjoyed my stay with its amazing accessibility to public transport and a big supermarket right across the street. The breakfast was decent, especially with a nice selection of coffee to kickstart the day. However, being in a bustling area like Lapa means it can get noisy at night, but if you’re there to soak in the local vibes, it’s definitely a plus!

The staff was consistently warm and welcoming throughout my three-night stay. Enjoying a light breakfast spread while savoring local delicacies like Italian dishes was a highlight, but the quality occasionally fell short of expectations. The bustling downtown area made for vibrant day and nightlife, yet this came with noise challenges during the evening hours. Additionally, while the room was clean and comfortable, street-facing units may crowd with sound at night.
